In collaboration with Kent Nagano, Hamburg Ballet will premiere John Neumeier’s latest full-length creation, Beethoven Project II, beginning 29 May, with two additional performances the following two days (30, 31 May).

The production was created in the fall of 2020 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s birth. Since the dress rehearsal on December 4, John Neumeier has been choreographically developing the ballet to present it as a live performance at the earliest possible date. “Beethoven Project II” is the second collaboration with Music Director Kent Nagano after Turangalîla (2016).

Mari Kodama, together with tenor Klaus Florian Vogt and violinist Anton Barakhovsky are the soloists of the project.
